Baton Rouge rapper NBA YoungBoy arrested in Utah on drug, weapon counts, records show

NBA YoungBoy, the Baton Rouge rapper who has been living in Utah on house arrest while facing felony gun charges in his hometown, has been arrested again, this time for drug, weapon and other charges

The chart-topping rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was arrested by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Cache County Jail on Tuesday evening. He is charged with 20 counts each of procuring or attempting to procure a drug/prescription, forgery, identity fraud, and a count each of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, possession of controlled substances and pattern of unlawful activity.

According to Utah code, a pattern of unlawful activity consists of “engaging in conduct which constitutes the commission of at least three episodes of unlawful activity, which episodes are not isolated, but have the same or similar purposes, results, participants, victims, or methods of commission, or otherwise are interrelated by distinguishing characteristics.”

Gaulden’s attorney, James Manasseh, said he was still learning details about the arrest and could not immediately comment. The Sheriff’s Office said it does not release additional information regarding inmate arrests.
