A British model has been jailed for nearly seven years in Peru after he was caught trying to smuggle cocaine out of the country.
Modou Adams, 25, was stopped by authorities last month as he tried to check into a flight at Jorge Chávez International Airport with almost three kilograms of cocaine hidden in his suitcase.
A court statement said the drugs were ultimately destined for London.
Adams confessed to the drug smuggling charge, the court said, and was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
Surveillance camera footage shows Adams wearing a black hoodie and a pair of shorts while carrying the suitcase into a hotel in Lima, the capital, on Sept 30.
