A federal grand jury is reviewing evidence as part of the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s investigation into Mayor Adams’ 2021 campaign ties to Turkey, and at least one person linked to the mayor has received a subpoena in recent weeks, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

The evidence being reviewed by the grand jury focuses on allegations that Adams’ 2021 campaign received illegal donations from the Turkish government, two of the sources told the Daily News on Friday.

A third source noted that in the past three weeks at least one person connected to the mayor has received a federal subpoena from the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office with specific instructions prohibiting the recipient from speaking publicly about its contents.

A spokesman for Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, who’s leading the Adams campaign probe, declined to comment or confirm or deny anything about the investigation late Friday.
