President Joe Biden has announced plans to name Pulse Nightclub in Orlando a national memorial five years after the shooting, in which 49 people were killed. At the time, it was the deadliest shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history, as well as the deadliest to target the LGBTQ community. Biden released a statement about the news on Saturday, the fifth anniversary of the shooting, announcing his intention to sign the bill which was passed unanimously by the House and Senate.
