Authorities in the Republic of Ireland have seized herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €3.7m (£3.2m), with the help of drugs dog Maggie.

Revenue, the Irish government agency responsible for customs, excise and taxation, seized approximately 185.84kg of the drug at Dublin Airport on Thursday.

Officers found the drugs concealed in boxes described as “Work Shoes” and “Spray Overalls”.

The drugs had arrived in air cargo consignments from Canada and were destined for addresses in Dublin.
