Ananda Lewis, an MTV VJ and talk show host, has died. She was 52.
Lewis’ sister Lakshmi took to social media to share news of her death on Wednesday, June 11.
“She’s free, and in His heavenly arms,” she said in a Facebook post. “Lord, rest her soul.”
In 2020, Lewis revealed she had been diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer, noting that due to her fear of radiation, she had not been getting regular mammograms.
Lewis was part of a roundtable with CNN’s Sara Sidner and her college friend Stephanie Elam about breast cancer, where she revealed she had stage IV cancer after going against medical advice about a double mastectomy.
