Audio streaming platform Spotifyrestored service for most users Sunday afternoon. Earlier in the day, it had been down for tens of thousands of users, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Downdetector, which tracks outages through a range of sources including user reports, showed about 40,602 affected users in the United States.

Many users took to social media platform X to share updates about the service disruption.

Spotify posted an update to X stating it had resolved the issues but gave no reason for the brief interruption.
