Walmart is laying off hundreds of employees even as it shifts away from remote work.

On Tuesday, the nation’s largest retailer said in an email to employees the layoffs will take place in corporate roles at Walmart campus offices.

”In addition, some parts of our business have made changes that will result in a reduction of several hundred campus roles,” Chief People Officer Donna Morri said in the memo, according to CNBC. “While the overall numbers are small in percentage, we are focused on supporting each of our associates affected by these changes.”
